Ghostwire: Tokyo announced and dated for Xbox Series X and S, with a Spider’s Wire update packed with new features for everyone

Last year came out Ghostwire: Tokyothen latest game as of Tango Gameworks which we enjoyed despite its flaws. Since then, the studio has released in a whole different genre Hi-Fi Rush and we learned of the imminent departure of Shinji Mikami, the entity’s founder and director. As we could read at the time in the game’s trailers, it will not be able to land on other media before March 25, 2023, exactly one year after its launch. We were therefore not expecting news of an arrival on Xbox Series X | S before this date and yet, we already have some.

In effect, Bethesda Softworks And Tango Gameworks just announced that Ghostwire: Tokyo will be released on Xbox Series X|S on April 12, with an immediate addition to the Game Pass on console and PC. But that’s not all, because director Kenji Kimura’s desire has materialized since free additional content will also be offered on the same date, and therefore accessible to players who own the game in its versions on PS5 and theEpic Games Store. This Spider’s Thread Update has been detailed at length.

In the program, a game mode The Spider’s Thread way rogue lite giving its name to the update, entirely separate from the journey ofAkito And KK, which will be accessed from the main menu. We will then have to go through 30 levels randomly selected from the more than 130 created by the developers, while completing challenges to gain skills. And of course, dying will make us start all over again, but keeping some of our improvements.

But that’s not all, because new game areas to explore will be added in Tokyo, including a middle school to haunted classrooms, with additional missions and new cutscenes for more character interactions. The more cowardly can activate a “Dim Horror Effects” option to reduce the horrific effects, replacing them with adorable “SHIIBUYA HACHI” stickers. Akito will be able to counter-attack following a parry, quickly dodge an attack (finally!) and carry out an elementary charge in close combat. The wind of Tengu and whirlwind-triggering spirit fountain talismans will also be added, serving to reach high areas or create springs that regenerate our ether supply. With again Visitors like the living PunishmentTHE silent gaze invisible or the bloodthirsty dancerit will not be too much.

The mode Photo will otherwise be improved, figurines can be acquired via distributors in exchange for Meikas (of the gashapon ?), as well as character models to use for our shots. Other non-detailed new features will be added to this very rich program, enough to make us restart the game for a few hours!

Whether Ghostwire: Tokyo intrigues you, do not hesitate to take a look at our impressions of the time. Amazon propose it from €29.90 on PS5. Some unpublished visuals are to be discovered on the following page.
