Gifts for book lovers: We give these books away for Christmas

The year is drawing to a close again. And with that, Christmas is just around the corner. To avoid the stress of gifts this year, one all too often resolves to start early. This time, in addition to the corona crisis, there are also its consequences and delivery bottlenecks worldwide, which should make Christmas shopping significantly more difficult.

We will save ourselves this worry and will simply give away some reading material for Christmas this year. There is hardly a more beautiful gift than a book, because at best it says something about the: the giver: in and the: the recipient: in at the same time – if you really think about it.

Books are the perfect gift

What could Aunt Elisabeth like? And what would our nephew be happy about? Which story is currently best suited to our best friend – and how can we please: the partner: in the best? With a book you don’t just give an object, but also, in a figurative sense, time and experiences. Unfortunately, sitting down consciously and reading in everyday life goes under all too quickly. Books are an ideal anti-stress cure, they allow us to dive into a world far away from our own and forget everything else for a moment.

The best way to choose a book is of course to take a leisurely look around a small, fine bookshop. Time usually stands still there and you can read from blurb to blurb in peace. But: The pandemic has definitely changed shopping behavior a bit and, especially in overcrowded shops, we are often still gripped by the instinct to flee. That’s why we have a little gift support for you this year: We have collected books in our editorial office that we noticed and that we would like to give away for Christmas. Maybe there is one or the other for you or your relatives? Then you can relax and set off on a Christmas stroll with a specific goal – and the inspiration to the right and left in the bookshelves comes back again anyway.
