Video recordings allegedly raise questions after Gil Ofarim’s anti-Semitism allegations against a hotel employee.
After the anti-Semitism allegations by Gil Ofarim (39) against an employee of a hotel in Leipzig, video recordings are supposed to raise questions. In early October, the singer reported on Instagramthat he had been asked by an employee of the hotel to wrap his necklace with a Star of David on it. Then he can check in.
“Bild am Sonntag” now reports, citing soundless surveillance videos from the hotel, which the paper shows that Ofarim’s necklace with the Star of David is allegedly not to be seen. The “Leipziger Volkszeitung” also says it, The surveillance video from the lobby of the hotel raised “further questions about the Gil Ofarim case”. The evaluation of the video recordings should not be finished yet.
“This is not about the chain”
Gil Ofarim explained to “Bild am Sonntag”: “The sentence that came up came from behind. That means someone recognized me. It’s not about the chain. It’s actually about something much bigger. Since I often talk to the Star of David on TV, I was offended because of it. ” It’s not about “whether the chain was seen in the hotel or not. It’s about the fact that I was insulted anti-Semitically”.
In the meantime, the musician has filed a criminal complaint against the hotel employee. That he gave this Tuesday (October 12th) in an Instagram post known. The hotel employee had also previously filed a complaint against him for defamation. According to the allegations, two employees of the hotel are said to have been given leave for the time being.
