Gilles Bouleau insulted by Eric Zemmour: the JT star confirms and replies

More than a month after his criticized interview with Eric Zemmour, at the end of which he would have been insulted by the presidential candidate, the presenter of the TF1 JT Gilles Bouleau wanted to return to this very special evening.

Gilles Bouleau does not agree with the critics. On November 30, many people criticized the presenter of TF1’s 20 hours of offering an interview with an inquisitorial character to Eric Zemmour. At the end of it, the star presenter would even have been insulted off the air by the presidential candidate., who reproached him for not asking him any questions about his political program. Thus, more than a month after the events, Gilles Bouleau wanted to come back to this very special evening in the columns of the JDD dated this Sunday, January 9.

In response to a question asking if he had any regrets about the way he conducted his interview, Gilles Bouleau replied: “We can always do differently, but this is one of the interviews on which I worked the longest upstream. It was the first time that I had met him, so I had no affections towards him, nor any particular reason for taking a hold of him. I think I posed that night questions that any other journalist would have asked“.

Gilles Bouleau: “Yes, he insulted me. But that’s okay”

One of Eric Zemmour’s biggest criticisms? That the presenter of the TF1 JT spoke to him for so long about the middle finger made to a woman during a trip to Marseille. But that too, Gilles Bouleau was keen to defend himself: “I do not believe that Eric Zemmour, who had made a middle finger two days earlier, could be surprised that I broached the subject. As for his program, I did not at any time forbid him to develop it. “. But the question that burned the lips of the journalist from JDD was necessarily to have more information on what happened off the air, when the presidential candidate would have insulted Gilles Bouleau.

To which the latter replied:Yes, he insulted me, but that’s okay. I have known everything in political interviews. Bernard Tapie who smashes the studio door, François Fillon who leaves him very unhappy, like Marine Le Pen or Jean-Luc Mélenchon … This is the life of this profession, you need composure, hindsight and distance”.
