This colorful Easter drink tastes fruity and tart and only requires two main ingredients – and you probably have one of them in your pantry. We’ll tell you what exactly Gin and Jam is and how you can mix it together for happy hour.

If the Easter holidays are celebrated with Easter eggs, chocolate bunnies and yeast plaits, you can steal some jam from the latter and use it as an ingredient for a wonderful Easter drink: The Gin and jam cocktail combines jam and gin. Thanks to the slightly bitter taste of the gin and the sweetness of the fruit, the different flavor nuances are perfectly balanced – and this colorful Easter drink is also an eye-catcher in the glass.

Gin and Jam: It’s all about the jam!

The Gin and Jam Easter drink requires two ingredients that share the main role: namely high-proof gin and sweet jam, which, by the way, is hidden behind the English term “jam”. From strawberry to cherry to apricot – any jam you have at home can be used to prepare Gin and Jam. Depending on the type used, the taste of the drink also changes, making it wonderfully variable. A recipe that you should definitely remember if you have a spontaneous visit, as jam can be found in most pantries.

Recipe: Make your own gin and jam Easter drink

The ingredients:

The preparation:

  1. Place ice cubes in a screw-top jar with a suitable lid.
  2. Now add the jam, pour in lemon juice, gin and tonic water or soda. Close the screw-top jar tightly and shake vigorously.
  3. The gin and jam drink is ready! It can be drunk directly from the jam jar or poured into a long drink glass.

Kitchen tip: Instead of jam, you can also use jam or jelly for the gin and jam drink. Those who make the sweet spreads themselves naturally have the best overview of the ingredients used and can also refine them with herbs or spices such as vanilla.
