Giovanni Zarrella has landed at number one in the album charts with his new album “Per Semper” – and has left Madonna behind.

A lot is happening again in the charts determined by GfK Entertainment: Giovanni Zarrella (44) has climbed to the top of the German album charts with his album “Per Semper” (in English: “Forever”). A big day for the pop singer. “I feel like I’m getting everything back that I’ve worked towards for 15 years, some of which have been tough,” he said in conversation with the “Bild” newspaper. “This 1 belongs to all of us”, Zarrella also writes on Instagram and thanks the fans “from the bottom of my heart”.

He is even ahead of the “Queen of Pop”. Madonna (64) comes second with her new album “Finally Enough Love”. It gets a little more uncomfortable in third place: It’s no longer about love but about life afterward, which the metal band Five Finger Death Punch sings about in “AfterLife”. Behind them are Rammstein, who haven’t left the top five for a long “time”. For reassurance, there is Schlager again in fifth place: Andrea Berg (56) with “I would do it again”.

“Layla” slips off

There is also movement at the top of the singles charts. The controversial Ballermann hit “Layla” by DJ Robin und Schürze has slipped to third place after nine weeks at the top. Nina Chuba (23) is now at the forefront with “Wildberry Lillet”, silver goes to Miksu (34), Macloud (34) and Makko with “Nachts awake”.
