“Girl on the horse” rushes from success to success this week: the summer hit of the year also climbs to the top of the German charts.
The song “Girl on the Horse” has only just become official Summer hit 2023 has been chosen. Now the catchy track by the DJ and producer duo Luca-Dante Spadafora/Niklas Dee with singer Octavian has also climbed to the top of the Official German Charts, determined by GfK Entertainment. “In the single charts, the official summer hit ‘Girl on the Horse’ gallops and rides to the top for the first time,” says a press release from the market research company.
“Girl on the horse”: Through TikTok to success
Only on Wednesday (August 23), and thus unusually late in the year, was “Girl on the Horse” the official summer hit 2023. The techno remake of the song by producers Peter Plate (56), Ulf Leo Sommer (52) and Daniel Faust (Fabian Buch did the vocals at the time), which originally became known through the film “Bibi und Tina” (2014), is mainly thanks to TikTok successful. According to the GfK release, the song has all the criteria for a summer hit, including “a simple text that’s easy to sing along with, a catchy melody that puts you in a good mood and a rhythm that invites you to dance.”
“Girl on the horse” was able to place in the top five of the German charts seven times, four of them in the top three, before finally climbing to the top of the hit parade. It is only the fourth German-language summer hit since the investigation began in 1990. In addition to the great TikTok success, “Girl on the Horse” is also “played up and down” in holiday regions such as Mallorca.
Another Ballermann sound in the German charts
“9 bis 9” by SIRA, Bausa & badchieff (position two) and “Summertime” by Kontra K feat. Lana Del Rey (position three) the top three on the singles chart. The mega hit “Komet” by old rockers Udo Lindenberg & Apache 207 is in fourth place.
The German band Madsen took the lead in terms of albums with their new long player “Hollywood”. Weimar is in second place with the re-release of their 2022 record “Auf Biegen & Brechen”. Ballermann singer Mia Julia (36) ranks third with “Bad Manners”. Meanwhile, last week’s winner Samy Deluxe (45) rushed down steeply. His album “Hochkultur 2” fell from last week’s top spot to position 53.
