Girls, 3 and 4, play in a house full of adults, the little one ends up killing the other


In the United States, a 3-year-old girl accidentally killed her 4-year-old sister after finding a gun inside an apartment.

New gun victim in the United States. This Sunday, March 12, a 3-year-old girl killed her 4-year-old sister in Houston, Texas, reports ABC News. According to statements by Ed Gonzalez, the Harris County Sheriff, the child was in an apartment with his sister and five other family members, as well as friends.

But at some point, the two children were left unattended. It was then that the 3-year-old girl managed to get her hands on a semi-automatic pistol, which went off in the direction of her sister. Alerted by the detonation, the adults rushed into the room where the children were, and discovered the young victim unconscious.

The adults responsible for leaving a gun?

Called urgently, the emergency services could only note the death of the girl. Authorities said the prosecutor must decide whether or not to prosecute the adults present that day. These latter could be charged with leaving a weapon unprotected. “You have to make sure you are responsible when you own a gun. Put your guns in a safe place. You have to do more than just tell the kids not to touch them.”warned the sheriff.

Such tragedies are unfortunately recurrent in the United States. Indeed, according to the Gun Violence Archive, 47 children have died in gun-related incidents since the start of the year, and 114 others have been injured. A figure that climbs in the age group from 12 to 17 years, where there are 282 deaths. A total of 8,385 people have been shot dead in the country since January.
