Gironde: a corpse found on a beach on Christmas Day


Floating at sea for several days, a body was recovered by the gendarmes of the Gironde on the beach of Carcans this Saturday, December 24.

During the Christmas weekend, the body of a man was found on the beach of Carcans (Gironde). The gendarmes were dispatched to the scene this Saturday, December 24 at 3 p.m. Floating on his stomach for several days, his body was damaged by the fish preventing his facial identification. He was nevertheless quickly flagged down after stranding on the sand with his back intact.

According to information collected by Le Figaro, the flesh of the corpse, swollen by the water, making the extraction operation delicate. And all the more so since the gendarmes had to intervene quickly because of the rising tide. The intervention of a diver and the assistance of a helicopter made it possible to recover the body which was entrusted to the forensic institute.

The gendarmes are currently consulting the reports of disappearance issued in New Aquitaine. DNA matching tests will be performed based on identifying the deceased. His dentition will also become a track if intact. An investigation for the discovery of a corpse and research into the causes of his death are underway. All hypotheses are considered at this stage of the investigations.
