Give Live A Chance: The controversial major concert has to be postponed until autumn

The "Give Live A Chance" concert with Bryan Adams and Sarah Connor planned for September 4th in Düsseldorf cannot take place.

The major concert "Give Live A Chance", which was supposed to take place on September 4th in the Merkur Spiel-Arena in Düsseldorf with up to 13,000 visitors, has been postponed. This has now been announced, among other things, on the official homepage of the event. Now the event with Bryan Adams (60) and Sarah Connor (40, "How beautiful you are") will take place in late autumn.

The organizers therefore felt compelled to take this step due to the increasing number of infections and a subsequent capacity restriction. "We are still of the opinion that our catalog of measures offers fans, artists and employees comprehensive protection," explains "Give Live A Chance" organizer Marek Lieberberg (74).

There was plenty of criticism

There had been a lot of criticism of the event beforehand. All those involved had asked themselves "the question of the responsibility of the planned event" and agreed to make a decision by August 31 on whether the concert could take place. The state capital Düsseldorf, concert organizer Lieberberg and the Ministry of Labor, Health and Social Affairs had agreed on this procedure, as was confirmed in a declaration on August 13th.

In addition to Adams and Connor, Rea Garvey (47), Joris (30), Michael Mittermaier (54) and The BossHoss should also perform at the concert. More than 7,000 tickets had been sold for the event so far. The entrance fee and the advance booking fees are to be refunded. "Give Live A Chance" was intended to demonstrate that it can be possible to hold a major event despite the Corona crisis.
