And to play the companion of Daniel Craig’s character, Rian Johnson called on a legendary actor, a recognized face of the great British romantic comedies: Hugh Grant! The star therefore embodies Phillip, Benoit Blanc’s partner in life, with whom he even shares his confinement.

His appearance is quick in the film but it was enough to delight the public and please the fans of the actor, who is one of the surprise guests of Glass Onion. And for Rian Johnson, there was no better actor than Hugh Grant to play Benoît Blanc’s companion, as he explained to AlloCiné:

“We see, basically, a bit of Benoit Blanc’s family life in the film. But just a little glimpse. And we get to see who his partner in life is. And it makes me very happy to know that Benoit Blanc is in a relationship with this person. And I couldn’t think of anyone better than this surprise guest for Blanc. He was the perfect choice!”

So will we see Hugh Grant again in the third installment of the Knives Out franchise? We wish! For the moment, no information has been revealed on the third film but we hope that Rian Johnson will want to explore the personal life of Benoit Blanc even more.
