Glass Onion on Netflix: this musical sequence with Janelle Monáe and Edward Norton was cut during editing

Sequel to Knives Out available on Netflix, Glass Onion follows the new investigation of detective Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig). This humorous police comedy could have contained a musical scene between Janelle Monáe and Edward Norton.

A real hit on Netflix, Glass Onion is the sequel to the police comedy Knives Out. Private detective Benoît Blanc, imagined by Rian Johnson and played by Daniel Craig, finds himself in Greece to investigate a new case as funny as it is thrilling.

The ex-James Bond faces an exceptional cast – Janelle Monáe, Edward Norton, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., Kate Hudson, Madelyn Cline, Jessica Henwick and Dave Bautista – for this sequel full of twists and turns.

Highly anticipated by fans, Glass Onion has met with great success on Netflix, quickly rising to the top of the platform’s views. The film got off to a roaring start with more than 82 million hours viewed in the first three days, making it Netflix’s sixth highest grossing.

A musical scene has been cut!

If subscribers are already a fan of Glass Onion as it is, they could have been entitled to a memorable sequence, which unfortunately was not kept in the edit. Janelle Monáe and Edward Norton revealed in an interview with Rotten Tomatoes that they shared a musical sequence on a David Bowie hit.

The two actors being “mega David Bowie fans”they proposed to the director to create a karaoke scene between their characters who would sing Moonage Daydream in the bar where the group of friends used to hang out.

Rian Johnson was up for this idea and even shot a few shots: “I think he wanted to satisfy our desire to have a greater connection between our characters” admits Edward Norton.

And this scene was also shared with two other cast members: “Kathryn Hahn and Kate Hudson were our backup singers”, explains Janelle Monáe. Unfortunately, this sequence is not present in the final version of Glass Onion but we hope to see it, if Rian Johnson decides to share it.
