You all dreamed of it: the mobile version of Gmail will include the possibility of reacting to emails with emojis.

While some enjoy communicating through written and/or voice messages, others prefer to express their emotions with emojis.

Emojis are coming to Gmail on iOS and Android

Emojis have become an integral part of our daily lives. We use them in all circumstances, whether to accompany our messages or to react to a conversation. If reactions in the form of emojis were once restricted to social networks, they have gradually begun to invade SMS on iPhone and Android, and emails or even on Windows 11, the latest version of Microsoft’s OS. This is particularly the case with Outlook, Microsoft’s email client, which allows you to personalize your emails with emojis. Good news, after emojis in video with Google Meet, it’s now the turn of Google messaging to do the same!

As we learn from the media TheSpAndroid, developer Steve Moser recently discovered the presence of emojis in the code of Gmail on iOS. For the moment, the functionality is under development and is therefore not yet available to the general public. However, this seems to have some restrictions, as it will not allow users to react with emojis to encrypted messages or add more than 20 reactions to a message. If there is no indication that the feature will arrive on the web version of Gmail, owners of Android devices (in addition to iOS) should sooner or later be able to take advantage of it.
