Candidate Luca made it to eighth place at GNTM. In the 14th episode, she had to leave Heidi Klum’s show. In an interview with GALA, Luca reveals how she experienced the time and what plans she has for the future.

GNTM participant Luca was one of the youngest among the youngsters. Suddenly diving into the world of fashion at the age of 19 can be overwhelming, if not overwhelming. But Luca stood out because of her emphatic and relaxed manner. Disputes and catfights? Nothing. At the beginning of “Germany’s Next Top Model” she had a particular concern, as she revealed in an interview with GALA.

GNTM candidate Luca experienced her exit with mixed feelings

GALA: The GNTM recording and thus your exit are a little further back. How did you feel immediately after the decision?

Luca: I think it was kind of a balance for me. I was extremely sad that I had to leave the girls and also because the auditions didn’t work out as I had hoped. At the same time, I’m happy and proud of myself that I’ve come this far in the first place. I didn’t have to be sad then – I also achieved so much.

Heidi said it straight away: Your path as a model will not end with “Germany’s Next Top Model”.

Yes, I was really happy about Heidi’s statement. I hope that there are still a few more projects to come. I already have small inquiries, but I didn’t have that much airtime at the beginning, more like the last two episodes. Modeling should continue to play the main role in my life.

The viewers and your followers also felt that you barely had airtime at the beginning of the season. Did that surprise you when you saw the consequences?

I was already prepared for it. It was clear that those who polarize come more to the fore. I already perceived myself as loud, but I quickly noticed that there are voices that are even louder. At some points I would have thought that I would be shown more in one or the other scene, but especially at the beginning with 25 girls, it’s not that easy.

Do you think that your casual manner was sometimes out of place, for example at customer appointments?

No, I wouldn’t say that. Rather the opposite. In retrospect, I think that I should have taken it easier. Of course, one always resolves to be relaxed before meeting customers. But there is just this pressure. I should have adapted even more to the customer and the situation.

Has your time at GNTM changed you – positive or negative?

I would say at most positively. I grew with the tasks and experiences.

Right at the beginning I was afraid that I might turn into a negative. Probably because of the impressions from the previous seasons, but also because at the beginning you don’t know what you’re getting yourself into. It could also have been that one totally experiences the soaring.

But luckily that didn’t happen; I stayed open and cordial. GNTM gave me more self-confidence and a stronger demeanor.

In general, I think we were a very pleasant season. Except at the beginning there were hardly any disputes. I think that made our group stand out. We all supported each other and I thought that was very nice.

What are your future plans?

I want to start studying in October. I would like to study media and communication studies or journalism. But modeling should play the main role. I will now also concentrate on Instagram and hope that I can use it to land jobs and then later look for an agency that will support me.
