During the Game Awardsdevelopers Santa Monica Studio had a surprise up their sleeve for fans of God of War Ragnarok : a free roguelite-style DLC taking place in Valhalla.
At the last count of November, God of War Ragnarok has sold more than 15 million copies. A great performance for the PS4 and PS5 exclusivity from Santa Monica Studio. In order to thank its players, the developer has worked in recent months on a surprise: a free DLC called God of War Ragnarök: Valhalla. And the best part of all this is that there will be very little time to wait to get your hands on it: release scheduled for next week, December 12.
A roguelite-style epilogue for Kratos
Taking place after the final events of God of War Ragnarok, this DLC serves as an epilogue to the plot of which it will not be afraid to spoil elements. However, this additional content can be launched at any time, because its progression and the elements to be unlocked are independent of the main story.
Fighting, and more fighting
Accompanied only by Mimir, Kratos heads towards the coasts of Valhalla in order to “ overcoming challenges within himself and confronting the echoes of his past “. A lot of words to explain the fact that he is going to use his weapons and continue the fights. Each trial will encourage the player to master different aspects of our hero’s arsenal by putting new combinations of enemies on his path.
Each failure will still give you the right to resources to spend to improve Kratos or modify Valhalla and hope to go ever further. Armor here is cosmetic only, while temporary glyphs will be there to change your stats, perks, and runic attacks with each try. Five difficulty levels and different accessibility settings are included to best personalize the experience.
