God of War Ragnarök: PS4 owners have a big problem

After God of War (2018) was a huge success, fans are now eagerly awaiting the sequel. However, it seems to be taking up a lot of storage space on the PlayStation 4. We’ll tell you how much you’ll probably have to dig up.

God of War Ragnarök: Much larger than its predecessor

At least that’s what the Twitter account PlayStationSize claims. Here has been in the past correctly predicted several timeswhich games take up which space on the hard drive.

God of War Ragnarök should do that on the PlayStation 4 probably 90.6 GB be, that is twice as much as God of War (2018). Only 45 GB were needed here. Could that be an indication of the scope of the game? The average playing time of God of War is around 20 hours. In purely mathematical terms, the next part would be twice as long. So far this is only speculation, but not impossible.

God of War Game Director at the time, David Jaffe, had suggested in the past that God of War: Ragnarök was a good 40 hours, but nothing was set in stone just yet. “Is that safe? no Things get cut out, things get added. But what I can say right now – 40 hours of gameplay is the goal of the developersthat they want to achieve with God of War,” said Jaffe (source: YouTube).

It will probably take a while before the actual size of the game is known. God of War Ragnarok will be released on November 9, 2022 for PS4 and PS5.

To bridge the time until the release, we recommend the following games:

God of War Ragnarök: Size is no longer unusual today

While 90GB is a lot, the size isn’t uncommon these days – some games require even more storage space.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare can overall up to 200GB Take up space on the PS4. GTA 5 requires 75GB and Red Dead Redemption 2 joins in 105GB book. Games of around 50 to 100 GB are not uncommon on the PlayStation 5 either.

Games are getting bigger and better, which affects processing power and the memory required. The consoles offer enough space for a few apps and one or the other game. If you don’t have enough space, you can use the PS4, for example help out with an external hard drive (view now on Amazon). With the PlayStation 5, you can create more space with expanded USB storage.
