God of War Ragnarok: Understand the license in less than 6 min to start the game well!


God of War fans discovered a new side to Kratos when God of War launched on PS4 in 2018. If you haven’t yet experienced the tale of father and son journeying through the realms of myth first hand Nordic, or if it’s been a while, that’s a good summary that you definitely need to watch.

Understand everything about God of War in 6 minutes

In preparation for the upcoming release of God of War Ragnarök on November 9, two storytellers, Felicia Day and the voice of Mimir, recapped Kratos and Atreus’ journey in God of War (2018). The goal is obviously to make you catch up on the previous game without having to do it or watch long Let’s Play on YouTube. Note that if you prefer to enjoy God of War on your own before Ragnarok is released, the title is currently on sale on the PlayStation Store until August 18, 2022.

Attention, the video contains of course spoilers major but essential if you want to start directly with Ragnarok.

“Many years have passed since Kratos took revenge against the Olympian gods. Having survived his last encounter with his father Zeus, Kratos has since traveled to Midgard in ancient Norway and now lives with his young son Atreus in the world of the Norse gods, a savage land inhabited by many fierce monsters and warriors.To teach his son, whose mother and second wife of Kratos died recently, how to survive in such a world, Kratos must master the rage that drives him for many years and embrace his new role as father and mentor.”

When is God of War Ragnarok taking place?

Now that you’ve caught up on the story with God of War (2018), know that the events narrated in God of War Ragnarök take place a few years after those of the first opus. This time, all of the Nine Realms can be explored as Kratos and his grown-up son, Atreus, seek out new allies to save the world from certain doom: Ragnarok. Familiar faces like Mimir or Freya will be back, but this new title will be an opportunity to meet new characters and monsters.

Imagine for a second, and if one of the first opuses of the famous God of War license had a remake… all under Unreal Engine 5. A fan creation shows us what it could give, and the result is simply stunning!
