God of War Ragnarok: which graphics mode to have the best performance?


The release of God of War Ragnarok is approaching, and the developers at Santa Monica Studio have just unveiled all the graphics options available on PS5 and PS4. In total, there will be nine! Something to suit all players, depending on their machine and their screen.

As you may know, we are fast approaching the release of one of the most anticipated games of the year: God of War Ragnarok. The sequel to the adventures of Kratos and Atreus will land on PS4 and PS5 this November 9, 2022.

To reach as many players as possible, this opus will therefore be cross-platform. Despite everything, the developers of Santa Monica Studio intend to win the jaws of the players, and whatever their console and their screen. To do this, the teams intend to offer several graphic modes. And precisely, the complete list of the different display options has just been unveiled. On PS5:

  • Performance Mode : 1440p-2160p and a target of 60 frames per second
  • Performance mode + HFR (HDMI 2.1 compatible screen required): 1440p and 60 frames per second unbridled
  • Performance mode + HDR + VRR (screen compatible with HDMI 2.1 and VRR imperative): 1440p and 60 frames per second unbridled
  • Quality Mode : 2160p (native 4K) and 30 frames per second
  • Quality mode + HFR (HDMI 2.1 compatible screen required): 1800-2160p and 40 frames per second unbridled

On PS4:

  • Performance Mode (PS4 Pro) : 1080-1656p and 30 frames per second unbridled
  • Quality Mode (PS4 Pro) : 1440-1656p and 30fps
  • Regular Mode (PS4) : 1080p and 30 frames per second
