At the beginning of the year, Deadline asserted thatAmazon Prime Video was in negotiation with Sony Pictures Television to produce and broadcast a series based on the franchise god of war. Well, just before the end of the year, this series project god of war just made officialas well as some details, again reported by Deadline.
It is now certain, this series god of war will be fine live actionwith Rafe Judkins (The wheel of time) in showrunnerwhile Mark Fergus and Hawk Otsby (Iron Man, The Sons of Men, The Expanse) will take care of the scenario. The three men will also be in production, alongside Cory Barlog, Creative Director at Santa Monica Studio and director of reboot of 2018.
The series should be faithful to recent video games, following Kratos, God of the war going into exile in the kingdom of Midgard to forget his past in ancient Greece, where he will have to raise his son after the death of his wife. Nothing to disturb the fans, therefore. The series adaptation project began at the same time as the first hallway noises, last March. The series will be co-produced by Amazon Studios and is already expected in more than 240 countries via Prime Video, at an unknown date. Ditto for the casting which is very mysterious.
