On Steam, the studio clarifies that the titles will have to be removed “due to a technical change at Amazon Web Services“who”will prevent files from being successfully transmitted to new users.“The press release specifies that players who already own the titles Godus will be able to continue to enjoy it (as much as possible) without worry. However, this technical problem means that it will be impossible to redownload the game in the future even if you have it in your library. It therefore seems wise to save it for posterity.

In 2016, 22cans published the spin-off Godus Wars free for owners of the original game. This RTS variant immediately included numerous micro-transactions, removed following popular discontent. Both titles have been left to rot in the open since 2016. On December 14, 2021, Peter Molyneux promised in the columns of The Verge that Godus would receive an update before Christmas. But knowing the guy, you’ve already guessed that the meager remaining players only received the gentle breeze of disappointment on their faces.
Godus And Godus Wars will be delisted on an as yet unknown date. Mobile versions should not be affected.
