After having violently clashed in the previous film, Godzilla and King Kong will have to team up in Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, in cinemas on April 3. Because as we can hear in the new trailer for the blockbuster: “They don’t need to like each other, they just need to be a team.â€

The battle continues

What can fans of Legendary’s MonsterVerse expect in this new feature film? Very, very big apes, a Godzilla that glows pink, a new enemy called Skar King, a mini Kong and a Kong armed with a gadget that gives him electrifying powers.

According to the film’s official synopsis, “The all-powerful Kong and the fearsome Godzilla join forces against a terrible, still-secret threat that risks annihilating them and endangering the very survival of the human species.â€

This new opus will thus go back “the origin of the two titans and the mysteries of Skull Island, while revealing the mythical battle that helped shape these two extraordinary creatures and linked their fate to that of man forever…

As shown in the trailer below, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire will be full of titanic clashes, urban destruction and giant teeth jumping from the mouths of gigantic monsters. All this promises excessive entertainment.

Terry Rossio (Godzilla vs. Kongthe saga Pirates of the Caribbean) and Simon Barrett (You’re Next) and Jeremy Slater (Moon Knight) are writing the screenplay, based on a story imagined by Rossio, Wingard and Barrett.

Kong and Godzilla will be allies against the threat of Skar King in this new film, but Wingard stressed to the magazine Empire that they won’t be best friends either. The director instead describes the dynamic of a “duo of dysfunctional cops”, as in films from the 1980s in the style of The lethal Weapon.

So let’s expect a shock team, which will still have difficulty getting along in this Godzilla x Kong. Here is the official poster for the film:
