Even though many people rightly perceive Godzilla as a gigantic and destructive monster, most films about the giant lizard make it clear that Godzilla’s intentions are actually not bad.
Even in the more recent productions from the MonsterVerse, Godzilla tends to keep order by fighting other Kaiju. The fact that sometimes entire cities are destroyed – for free!
Of course, the same applies to King Kong and so the fight between the two titans in “Godzilla vs. Kong” from 2021 was really exciting. The outcome of the duel was not certain from the outset, as there was no clear hero here.

In “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire” Kong and Godzilla return, but as partners. A new threat requires their intervention, as a new monster ape that dwarfs King Kong is causing fear and terror.
The first trailer for the film not only announces Kaiju battles, but also introduces a baby Kong, who of course has to be protected at all costs. Are we about to see the appearance of Godzilla’s adopted son Minilla? You can still dream!
“Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire” is scheduled to open in German cinemas on April 12, 2024. We are currently experiencing Godzilla in the Apple TV+ series “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters”. The series uses the Kaiju only sparingly, but is officially part of the MonsterVerse and could theoretically create a bridge between “Godzilla vs. Kong” and “Godzilla x Kong”.
