Goethepark Klagenfurt – Drunk women had an accident with an e-scooter

Two young adults had an accident with an e-scooter during the night on Saturday: The women (21 and 22) were drunk together in a vehicle, and the 22-year-old fell. She was injured in the head area and had to be admitted to the Klagenfurt Clinic.

The accident happened around 0.30 a.m. At that time, a 21-year-old woman from Klagenfurt and her 22-year-old friend were out and about with an e-scooter in the Goethepark in the state capital. The friends shared a vehicle – but because the 22-year-old could not hold on well, she suddenly fell from the scooter.

Passers-by called for rescue
The young woman was injured in the head as a result of the impact. Passers-by alerted the rescue team, who then took the injured person to the Klagenfurt Clinic. Both women were moderately intoxicated – this was confirmed by alcohol tests.

Driving a scooter while drunk is a criminal offense
Accidents with e-scooters occur again and again – also because of alcoholism. What many do not know: Drunk scooters can cost drivers their license! The head of the regional traffic department Colonel Adolf Winkler: “Up to 0.8 per mil there are no problems. The same applies to cyclists. ”If the alcohol level is higher, a report is made to the district administration even in the event of self-injury.

Winkler: “That usually means problems for license holders. The driver’s license will then probably be gone for a while. Scooters or bicycles are therefore not a car substitute for drunk people! “
