Golden Globes: Gillian Anderson surprises with special embroidery

The details are barely noticeable, but reveal their full potential if you just take a longer look: Gillian Anderson, 55, wore a sweeping dress by Gabriela Hearst in ivory color, which actually impressed with its subtle elegance. In about 150 hours, numerous vulvas were embroidered onto the “Sex Education” actress’s skirt. Why all the fuss? Not entirely clear! However, there could be a connection to her drink “G Spot”, which she is definitely subtly promoting with this dress.

Barbiecore in pink and pink

“Barbie” star Margot Robbie, for example, stayed true to her fashion line from previous events and also chose a bright pink dress for the Golden Globes. The glittering, floor-length and tight-fitting robe comes from Giorgio Armani Privé, Robbie’s stylist, paired it with a matching colored tulle stole. She held back visually when it came to jewelry, but not in terms of price: she combined a ring with white and pink diamonds with diamond earrings – the value of the bling is, according to “The Hollywood Reporter”, three million dollars.

Hailee Steinfeld, 27, also chose pink, but interpreted it in the style of old Hollywood glamour, with a deep neckline and a decorative bow at the neck. The old pink model comes from Prada and looks even more graceful thanks to the black and transparent gloves.

Floor-length dresses ensure extravagance

Showing little to no leg became a big trend that evening. The floor-length models have a classic appearance and do justice to the unique, special event. Long dresses are the method of choice, especially on the red carpet, as they offer more fabric and therefore numerous design options, which lead to individual and easy-to-photograph looks. This is how the musician chose Taylor Swift, 34, in a floor-length metallic green dress by Gucci creative director Sabato De Sarno. Riley Keough, 34, did the same with a dress from Chanel with a floral pattern, in which a little skin was visible thanks to the slight transparency – as was the case with “Yellowjackets” star Christina Ricci, 43, and her gown from Fendi.

Actress Issa Rae, 38, also set a floor-length highlight. She appeared at the Globes in a flashing orange metallic dress by Pamella Roland, which caused a stir thanks to its mosaic look.

Dua Lipa showed up at the event in a true statement dress. The Schiaparelli creation had the singer gliding down the red carpet as a mermaid. Golden applications in a skeleton look provided that certain something, but the jewelry is also worth a look, the singer staged a necklace from the Tiffany & Co. archives from 1962, made of gold and platinum with yellow beryl, topaz quartz and Diamonds.

The time of archive clothes

But the designers’ archives were also plundered that evening. So not only Andra Day, 39, appeared in a vintage dream by Georges Chakra Couture or Elle Fanning, 25, in an archived gown by Pierre Balmain, but also Carey Mulligan, 38, chose a gown for this evening that was in time was designed way back. The actress rocked a 1949 Schiaparelli mermaid-style floor-length gown on the red carpet. The elegant dress has several ruffles and a white detail in the chest area that is decorated with stones.

Statement in red

In addition to pink, another trend can also be seen this evening: whether Julianne Moore, 63, Selena Gomez, 31, Rachel Brosnahan, 33, or Danielle Brooks, 34, they all wore completely red outfits. This was also the case with Heidi Klum, who appeared with her husband Tom Kaulitz, 34. However, unlike so many of her US colleagues that evening, she revealed a glimpse of plenty of leg thanks to a cutout in the voluminous skirt of her strapless corsage dress.
