Helena Zengel arrived in Hollywood at the age of twelve. At the Golden Globes, however, she has not yet been able to win.

The young German star Helena Zengel (12, "Systemsprenger") was not allowed to cheer at the Golden Globes award ceremony. The young actress was nominated in the category "Best Supporting Actress in a Film" for her part in "News from the World" alongside Tom Hanks (64). Hollywood star Jodie Foster (58) won the trophy in this category for her supporting role in "The Mauritanian". In addition to Zengel and Foster, Glenn Close (73, "Hillbilly Elegy"), Olivia Colman (47, "The Father") and Amanda Seyfried (35, "Mank") were nominated.

Director Maria Schrader (55) was also unable to celebrate with the miniseries "Unorthodox". At the Golden Globes, the TV show entered the running for "Best Miniseries". "The Queen's Gambit" won in this category. The also nominated "Unorthodox" leading actress Shira Haas (25) was defeated by actress Anya Taylor-Joy (24) – also from "The Ladies' Gambit".

The ongoing corona pandemic forced the organizers of this year's Golden Globe ceremony on February 28 to make some changes. The two presenters Tina Fey (50) and Amy Poehler (49) led thousands of kilometers apart through the show, Fey in New York City, Poehler in Beverly Hills.
