The new Lord of the Rings: Gollum trailer reveals the final release date of the game. A trailer in which the person struggles not to let Sméagol take over.
Announced in 2019, Lord of the Rings: Gollum, an adventure-stealth game developed by Daedalic Entertainment (Deponia), is ready. Nacon, the publisher of the title, has communicated the release date of the game as well as a new trailer which highlights the dual personality of Tolkien’s character.

It is therefore the September 1, 2022 that The Lord of the Rings: Gollum will be available on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC. The Nintendo Switch version has not been canceled in the meantime, but it will only arrive ” later during this year “.
The game, which is inspired by the books of JRR Tolkien, will take place before The Fellowship of the Ring.
After losing his precious ring at the hands of Bilbo Baggins, Gollum decides to leave the Misty Mountains and embark on a perilous journey that will take him from the dungeons of Barad-Dûr to the kingdom of the forest elves of Great’Fear. To survive the dangers of his journey to Middle-earth, iI must sneak, climb and use all his cunning. He must also face his alter-ego, Sméagol. It’s up to the players if they want Gollum to have the upper hand in important decisions, or if they prefer to let Sméagol have the upper hand.
We will have the opportunity to meet “famous people” but also “some new faces”.
A constant battle with Sméagol
In the trailer, entitled “A split personality”, we see a scene where Gollum fights with his other personality Sméagol. This will be precisely one of the great challenges of the game with a system of choices. Everything will depend on the decisions of the player.
