The “transportable” counterpart of Bose’s star nomadic speaker, the SoundLink Revolve+ II follows the same path as the Revolve II, bringing minor developments to its 4-year-old predecessor. Which does not prevent it from being (almost) perfectly in tune with the times.

The passage of time has not diminished the qualities of the SoundLink Revolve+ in 2021 – and in particular its sound qualities, top of which is an absolutely admirable “bass control/space requirement” ratio. This “II” model certainly only brings such minor developments to the original model that they even become marginal; We also advise you, if you find said original model at a better price, to turn to it instead. It is still in absolute terms one of the best portable speakers on the market at its launch, only really surpassed by the much bulkier (and less elegant) Sony SRS-XB33 and SRS-XB43.
Strong points
- Remarkably controlled and defined bass.
- Musical and versatile sound.
- Omnidirectional sound diffusion.
- Impeccable construction, IP55 certification.
- Full controls, multipoint connection.
- Presence of an analog input on mini-jack / Can be used as a USB audio device on a computer.
Weak points
- Small lack of treble precision.
- Sound reproduction depends greatly on the surface on which the speaker is placed.
- High broadcast latency in Bluetooth (and not negligible in wired mode).
- Some anachronisms for a portable speaker from 2021 (recharging by micro-USB…).
NB: The reported price drop is calculated by comparing the lowest price of the day with the average of the lowest prices charged by all merchants for the product last month, with security rules to exclude the prices of stores whose the VAT policy is not clear (so-called “gray” stores, typically in the case of imports from China).

The SRS-XG300 produces a very clean copy and has everything you need to satisfy those looking for a solid speaker, both in terms of design and sound performance, extremely easy to use and complete. A few small defects tarnish the picture and prevent it from perfectly dominating the competition, in particular its cousin XB43, which we will prefer for its absolutely unbeatable quality/size/price ratio… unless we feel an irrepressible need for sound power bully.
