The Canon PowerShot SX540 HS camera goes under €300 at MB Tech, a drop of around 20% on the price usually observed. It is currently one of our best value for money for small budgets.
The Canon PowerShot SX540 HS takes over from the SX530 HS. This 50x lens bridge features a 1/2.3″ CMOS sensor that gains in definition (20 Mpx) and a DIGIC 6 processor. The video mode takes advantage of this to evolve and allows Full HD 60 fps recording. The design and ergonomics do not evolve, but Wi-Fi and NFC are still in place.

The SX540 HS is an extremely simple consumer bridge. In wanting to make it too simple, Canon forgets the essentials and sins by the absence of a viewfinder, which constitutes a misstep in 2017 and at this price. Opposite, Sony and Panasonic offer bridges with equally powerful zooms and with much more complete ergonomics. The arrival of the new sensor and the new processor is not enough to put the SX540 HS back in the race.

The Panasonic FZ82 is an attractive bridge thanks to its versatility, its effective stabilization at full zoom, its simplicity and its 4K functionalities. The evolution compared to its predecessor is clear from every point of view, but it still needs to correct a few small points to reach the five stars.
