The Canon PowerShot SX620 HS camera goes under €200 at MB Tech, a drop of around 21% on the usual price. It is currently one of our best value for money for small budgets.
Among the compacts with large zooms offered below 300 €, we have greatly appreciated the Canon PowerShot SX600 HS series for several generations. Third in its line, the PowerShot SX620 HS is essentially distinguished from its elders by its 25x zoom, equivalent to 25-625 mm. What give him wings and the desire to encroach on the flowerbeds of the upper range?

The Canon PowerShot SX620 HS is practical (yes), light (yes), slips into a pocket (yes), versatile (25x yes) and incredibly easy to use. But its image quality leaves something to be desired, its video skills are outdated and, if you are looking for 20x zoom or more, it is better to turn to the previous generation 30x zoom compacts, which are often better equipped or of better quality.

The Canon IXUS 285 offers all that is most basic: automated photo modes, a standard screen, a Full HD video mode at 30 fps. Its compactness and ease of use are its main assets. The rest is rather banal, both in terms of image quality and the responsiveness of the device. If you have a few more euros to spend, prefer the Sony HX60 or the Canon SX710 HS, certainly thicker, but more versatile.
