A newcomer to the all-in-one projector market (video, sound and integrated system), the Chinese manufacturer Dangbei is doing well with its Mars Pro 4K, a 4K Ultra HD laser projector priced at less than €2,000. Remains to be seen if it fills our eyes with it.
A newcomer to the projector market, Dangbei surprises with its Mars Pro 4K model. Very well designed, this 4K Ultra HD laser model displays a very bright HDR image, unmatched at such a price. The laser also limits consumption and noise pollution, while allowing instant ignition. In addition to the personalized Android system, which requires a little tinkering to find its applications, the Mars Pro 4K mainly suffers from a largely perfectible factory calibration. This is the case with the impossibility of finding a more accurate color temperature. For the rest, it’s a good, bright and quiet Ultra HD projector at an almost affordable price.

In raw image quality, it lags behind category benchmarks like the Sony VW290ES or even the Vava 4K UST Laser, but it impresses with its features and automatic adjustment capabilities. The Horizon Pro has other significant assets, such as silent operation, reduced display lag, instant wake-up and more. A black point: the partial support of Netflix, certainly circumventable via an external box, but then we lose the interest of the all-in-one video projector.
