Good deal – The Ecovacs Deebot 900 robot vacuum cleaner at €56.99 (-83%)

Ecovacs imposes itself a little more on the robot vacuum cleaner market by launching its Deebot 900, which is the third vacuum cleaner from the Chinese manufacturer to integrate a mapping system. In addition, this new version is able to provide methodical navigation and adapt its suction power according to the ground on which it passes.

The Ecovacs Deebot 900 corrects some errors observed on the R95MKII, which was sold for a higher price. Some of the Chinese manufacturer’s promises are materializing (methodical navigation system, obstacle management, rich and ergonomic application). If it rather provides good surface coverage, we can regret the suction performance on thick carpet but also on hard floors – and for a vacuum cleaner, it is still the minimum expected. So yes, the Deebot 900 will perform its task without any problems, but it is better to launch it twice in a row for optimal results. And for those who have thick carpets or long pile carpets: go your way instead.

Strong points

  • Overall device usage.
  • Simplified setup.
  • Rich and functional application.
  • Rather silent.
  • Autonomous.

Weak points

  • Use of a NiMH battery, less durable than a Li-ion battery.
  • Accumulation of waste in the vacuum cleaner.
  • Deplorable suction performance on thick carpet and perfectible on hard floors.
