Good deal – The Honor Band 5 “4-star” activity sensor at €29.93 (-20%)

The Honor Band 5 activity sensor goes below 30 € at Amazon Marketplace, a drop of around 20% on the price usually seen. This is currently our best value for money.

Here is the Honor Band 5! The low-cost activity sensor from the Huawei subsidiary. This new version adds music control and monitoring of the level of oxygenation. A shy update to a sensor that was already effective.

Like the Honor Band 4, this Honor Band 5 is a good activity tracker. It is supported by a rather complete application and allows itself to display most of the expected notifications. It even offers excellent heart rate tracking, but is limited by the lack of built-in GPS. And if that wasn’t enough, connected GPS (via smartphone) is only available with Honor and Apple models. Enough to sideline a lot of terminals, including those of Samsung. We will therefore prefer Xiaomi’s Mi Smart Band 4, armed with better autonomy and a GPS connected without the slightest discrimination.

Strong points

  • OLED screen.
  • Very good ergonomics.
  • Good quality heart rate monitor.
  • Four days of autonomy.

Weak points

  • A connected GPS only on Honor and Apple smartphones.

The Xiaomi Mi Band 5 does not revolutionize Xiaomi’s range of low-cost connected bracelets, but it does bring some significant improvements. This is the case of the magnetic system which allows the sensor to be recharged without disconnecting it from the bracelet. The Mi Smart Band 5 also offers some new features (remote camera triggering, menstrual tracking, etc.) and an improved screen. Unfortunately, it is still not a very convincing bracelet for the practice of intensive sport, mainly due to its basic heart rate monitor. Joggers, cyclists or occasional swimmers will find their account, but not those who practice regular activities and require great precision.
