Made in France and imagined by the inventor (Breton, of course) of crepe makers, the Billig is the emblem of Krampouz. Equipped with a machined cast iron plate with integrated resistance, it provides very good cooking performance combining stability and even heating. Cast iron is also one of the strongest materials there is and promises an almost unrivaled longevity for this device. On the other hand, the plate requires special maintenance. Billig is therefore aimed more at semi-professionals or pancake lovers who stop at nothing. For its Lono crepe maker, WMF has paid attention to appearances without neglecting performance. The rise in temperature could certainly have been more homogeneous, but the heat ends up diffusing in the plate rather quickly and is maintained there very well. The presence of a rim also avoids wasting too much dough on the work surface while learning to turn a nice pancake, but we still prefer smooth plates, especially since, at WMF, the rim encroaches a little too much on the cooking surface.
