Good deal – The LG 55B1 “4 stars” television at € 1,040.00

The LG 55B1 television goes under € 1,100 at Rue du Commerce. This is currently one of our best value for money on a budget.

The LG 55B1, 55-inch (140 cm) version of the LG 65B1 that we tested, is LG’s most affordable OLED TV with 100/120 Hz panel in 2021. Placed between the A1 model and its 60 Hz panel and the C1 more efficient and luminous, the LG B1 presents itself as a good compromise.

The LG 55B1 television – 55 inch (140 cm) version of the LG 65B1 that we tested – displays very good picture quality, but a few details do not allow it to earn its fifth star. We think in particular of the peak of brightness a little more limited than on the other Oled models and a perfectible colorimetry in HDR. Competition is raging in the Oled segment and it is becoming more and more complicated to pull out of the game. However, with its more aggressive price, this model can be interesting if we compare it to a higher-end product that is brighter.

Strong points

  • Image quality.
  • Filmmaker mode.
  • Infinite contrast.
  • Viewing angles.
  • Always efficient α7 processor.
  • Efficient Oled Motion Pro system.
  • Responsiveness of Oled technology, excellent display delay.
  • HDMI 2.1 compatibility (VRR, ALLM, eARC), FreeSync and G-Sync.

Weak points

  • Remote control not backlit.
  • Peak brightness in HDR mode set back compared to other Oled TVs.

This is flawless for the LG 48C1 – 48 inch (122 cm) version of the LG 55C1 that we tested – which, like its predecessor, is one of the most successful TVs on the market. It displays a perfectly calibrated image in SDR and HDR, very wide viewing angles and infinite contrast. The surprise comes from the rising peak of brightness which rivals that of the LG G1 yet equipped with the Oled Evo panel. The LG 48C1 will suit both moviegoers and video game enthusiasts thanks to its flawless responsiveness and the integration of the functions essential to enjoy the latest game consoles (HDMI 2.1, 4K120, VRR). Certainly one of the best Oled TVs on the market.
