Good deal – The Oppo Find X5 “5-star” smartphone at €498.00 (-31%)

The Find X5, little brother of the Oppo Find X5 Pro, also stands out as a high-end smartphone, even if it makes some concessions to stay below the symbolic bar of 1000 € at its launch.

Like the Pro version, the Oppo Find X5 is an excellent smartphone, with no penalizing flaws, with the possible exception of its lack of waterproofing. To reduce the bill, the Chinese manufacturer has made small concessions on the technical sheet, such as the choice of a SoC dating from 2021 or a panel without LTPO technology. In use, these choices prove to be judicious, since the smartphone is very efficient, provides satisfactory autonomy and holds its rank in photography. However, its price remains very high, and places it in the face of strong competition. It is therefore an attractive alternative for those who are put off by the price of the Find X5 Pro.

Strong points

  • Finishes pleasant to the touch.
  • Very nice OLED screen.
  • A powerful and stable Soc.
  • Versatile in photography.
  • Good battery life and fast charging.

Weak points

  • Lack of waterproof certification.
  • No LTPO technology for the screen.
  • A telephoto lens 2x less convincing than the other smartphone photo modules.

NB: The reported price drop is calculated by comparing the lowest price of the day with the average of the lowest prices charged by all merchants for the product last month, with security rules to exclude prices from shops whose the VAT policy is not clear (known as “grey” shops, typically in the case of imports from China).

Alternatively

Like its predecessor, the Google Pixel 7 is an excellent smartphone. It benefits from a beautiful screen, a powerful SoC and a very good photo sensor duo. In addition, its price positioning makes it more affordable than the vast majority of its high-end competitors, without making any real concessions. We can certainly blame him for his heating in game, his always slow recharging or his too great similarity with the Pixel 6, but these defects weigh little with regard to the general experience, even more intuitive under Android 13.
