Good deal – The Panasonic ER-GD61-K503 “5-star” electric shaver at €58.99 (-14%)

Rather reserved for beards (and ears), Panasonic’s ER-GD61 expands the Japanese manufacturer’s “i-shaper” range, which wants to capitalize on its unique concept of electric “straight razor”. This newcomer comes out of our test with honors.

After its ER-GD60 launched two years ago, Panasonic is establishing its concept of a “straight razor” type electric razor with the ER-GD61. The device is more successful, with a non-slip handle, the possibility of washing it, a lower noise level and greater autonomy. Disconcerting at first sight by its ergonomics, it finally ensures very high quality and really precise shaves.

Strong points

  • Shave quality.
  • Ideal for “sculpting” your beard.
  • Autonomy.
  • Washable.

Weak points

  • No charging station.
  • Wheel of the comb which clogs quickly.

NB: The reported price drop is calculated by comparing the lowest price of the day with the average of the lowest prices charged by all merchants for the product last month, with security rules to exclude prices from shops whose the VAT policy is not clear (known as “grey” shops, typically in the case of imports from China).

Alternatively

Philips is trying with talent to expand its range of razors / trimmers for men by offering a device directly related to male beauty. Bingo: the Series 1000 is a real success which one can be surprised at the rikiki price. Ready to complete equipment and meet the expectations of men concerned about the good maintenance of their beard, this little razor/trimmer does not suffer from any real defect apart from its battery operation.
