The Philips DiamondClean Smart HX9954/53 electric toothbrush goes under €250 at Darty.com, a drop of around 21% on the usual price. It is currently one of our best value for money.
The DiamondClean Smart is the first connected toothbrush from Philips to present itself as an oral hygiene coach. Where the Sonicare for Kids must be paired with a smartphone for parents to follow their children’s brushing routines, the DiamondClean Smart is for adults and can work without a smartphone. It offers them to follow their brushing habits and help them to better carry out this daily gesture.

- Modes and Options
Philips promised us that this toothbrush was much more than connected: “smart”. On this point, we asked to see to believe and we were not disappointed. Not only has the manufacturer been able to develop the design and ergonomics of its toothbrush, now much easier to use in “manual” mode, but it has also equipped the DiamondClean Smart with clever or expected functions, such as recognition the brush head, the head change light or the pressure sensor. And the good news is that all of them are available without having to pair the brush with your smartphone. By connecting it, with an effort to understand the app, one will have additional information and monitoring tools. The other side of the coin, to take advantage of it, you have to use the dedicated brushes, which are quite expensive. Despite everything, the DiamondClean Smart is undeniably our favorite model among “connected” toothbrushes.

Oral-B sets the bar very high in terms of functionality with its Genius Genius X 20000 connected toothbrush. Undoubtedly, the device has educational virtues through its application and personalized recommendations based on artificial intelligence. If we do not doubt the educational possibilities of this coupling, it remains to be seen whether once integrated a better way of brushing our teeth, we will still use this BDE 2.0 to 100% of its possibilities.
