The Philips Essential Airfryer Compact HD9252/90 multicooker goes under €80 at Amazon, a drop of around 27% on the price usually seen. It is currently one of our best value for money for small budgets.
Of the four models that make up the new range of Essential oil-free fryers from Philips, the Essential Airfryer Compact HD9252 therefore relies on its small format, but also on a contained price to seduce.
Philips Essential Airfryer Compact HD9252/90
- Convenience of use
- Interview
- Cooking
- Noise
Without much pretension, the Essential Airfryer Compact HD9252 nevertheless has the merit of doing what is asked of it. Its cooking performance is satisfactory on the whole and the dispensation of preheating saves considerable time compared to an oven. It’s a pity that its control panel has not been better thought out, and that its basket is still not a little larger given the size of the device.
Strong points
- No need for preheating.
- Relatively compact size.
- Little noisy.
- Interesting NutriU app.
Weak points
- Really small basket.
- Compulsory mixing of preparations during cooking.
- Inconvenient and unresponsive control panel.
- Dirty coating.

The Essential Airfryer XL HD9270/90 does not offer as many features as the more high-end models from Philips, but the essential is there: the heating is fast and the temperature rather stable and homogeneous within the tank. The NutriU application also makes it easy to find recipes, but we would have liked a slightly better control panel.
