Good deal – The ultra-portable speaker Marshall Willen Black “5 stars” at 74.99 € (-18%)

Already well established on the larger portable speaker market, Marshall is tackling the ultra-portable speaker market with the Willen, a clever blend of elegance, sturdiness and sound power.

For a first draft on the market of ultra-portable speakers, the Willen surprises with the elegance of its design, its generous autonomy, but also the overflowing energy it contains. However, we regret that this great power cannot be exploited, otherwise the listening experience will be degraded quite significantly.

Strong points

  • Rich and pleasant sound signature at moderate volume.
  • Elegant and robust design (IP67 certified).
  • Generous autonomy.
  • Very easy to handle, complete controls, multipoint Bluetooth.

Weak points

  • Sharp and lively appearance exacerbated by the highlighting of high mids and highs.
  • Generous reserve of power, but unusable.
  • No mini-jack input.
  • Not very useful Marshall Bluetooth smartphone app.

NB: The reported price drop is calculated by comparing the lowest price of the day with the average of the lowest prices charged by all merchants for the product last month, with security rules to exclude prices from shops whose the VAT policy is not clear (known as “grey” shops, typically in the case of imports from China).

Alternatively

Still just as practical, robust, durable and easy to use, the fourth version of the Clip surprises with its progress in terms of sound reproduction. If a few rare references are ahead of it, the gap it widens on this last point with the majority of speakers of its size remains notable. If you have no problem with the absence of a mini-jack input, the JBL Clip 4 is positioned as an ultraportable speaker of choice.
