good news and bad news for the payment of your benefits on Monday, May 6

Your allowances paid by your CAF or MSA have two surprises in store for you this month of May. Heads, a revaluation of 4.6% Heads, a transfer which will be delayed. Explanations.

The time has come for the revaluation of your benefits paid by the CAF or the MSA. A series of decrees were published in Official newspaper this week and confirm that the announced increase of 4.6% comes into force retroactively from April 1. This will actually be visible on the April benefits paid in May.

Concretely, a single recipient eligible for RSA will see their monthly benefit increase to 635.71 euros, an increase of around 28 euros per month. The 1.3 million beneficiaries who receive the adult disability allowance (AAH) will see the amount increase by 45 euros to around 1016.05 euros.

Other CAF allocations will also increase. This is the case with the activity bonus, paid to workers with modest incomes. It will cost 622.63 euros for a single person without children for example.

A transfer (a little) delayed in May

So here’s the good news. However, we will have to wait (a little). Normally, transfers from CAF and MSA are made on the 5th of each month. But if this day falls on a Saturday or Sunday, this advances or postpones the payment.

So bad news, in May, the 5th falls on a Sunday. The transfer will therefore be initiated this Monday, May 6. And it will take approximately 3 days before the sum of your allowance for the month of April is credited to your bank account. The same goes for scholarships awarded to students. They will be paid on Monday May 6 by the Crous.
