The actress receives a generous donation for her foundation: Eva Longoria receives $50 million from Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.

Thanks to Amazon founder Jeff Bezos (60), actress Eva Longoria (49) will be able to support even more people with her foundation in the future with a donation of 50 million US dollars (approx. 46 million euros). As The Hollywood Reporter reports, Longoria is one of the people honored with Bezos’ annual Courage and Civility Award. Since 2021, the entrepreneur and his fiancée Lauren Sanchez (54) have been honoring people who make a significant contribution to society.

Eva Longoria supports the Latino community

Eva Longoria, best known for her role on “Desperate Housewives,” founded the Eva Longoria Foundation in 2012. This foundation is dedicated to providing Latinas with a better future through education. “By providing Latinas with the resources to succeed in school and in business, we can strengthen the Latino community,” it says on its website. The foundation focuses on areas such as STEM education, parenting, mentoring and entrepreneurship.

In addition to Longoria, Admiral Bill McRaven (68) will also receive a donation of $50 million this year. The former chancellor of the University of Texas founded the Preservation of the Force & Family initiative to ensure the mental, spiritual and physical well-being of service members and their families. His wife, Georgeann, is also dedicated to supporting military families and wounded soldiers.

Previous award winners

Previous winners of the Jeff Bezos Courage and Civility Award and recipients of the annual donation of 100 million dollars were personalities such as US author Van Jones (55), top chef José Andrés (54) and singer Dolly Parton (78).
