good news for Suda51’s game

Suda51’s delirious Lollipop Chainsaw is due to return this year on PS5, Xbox Series and PC (at least). Without news for some time, the producer makes a comforting announcement.

Despite the flaws inherent in Goichi Suda’s productions, Lollipop Chainsaw is one of the creator’s games to recommend. Between the cell shading, the gore, the Juliet/Nick relationship, the bosses and even the music, we clearly have a good time right away. The title also has its fans and this is what led the former producer to buy the rights to offer a version on current platforms.

Lollipop Chainsaw still ready for release in 2024?

As we have known since the end of last year, Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP will ultimately be a remaster and no longer a remake. According to the game’s historic producer, Yoshimi Yasuda, it was a decision that was made after reading player feedback. As is often the case with projects of this style, fans expressed concern if the gameplay were to be modified too much. “We changed the game design of RePOP based on your feedback. We went from a remake to a remaster” said Yasuda on X.

If the gameplay of Lollipop Chainsaw will be intact, the graphics will be improved with more current technologies. On the other hand, bad news, but many music will be deleted for copyright issues. We’ve already had images of this remaster, but when will we see a real gameplay trailer? It shouldn’t be too long now. “Yasuda Says Preparations for Official Reveal of Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP Are Underway” (via Gematsu).

A trailer by Summer Game Fest 2024? We can count on such a window because the release is still maintained for summer 2024. No additional delays on the horizon therefore. Apart from a trailer, we are also awaiting confirmation from the platforms. Will this be a next-gen exclusive? Or will the aging PS4 and Xbox One also be affected?
