Good news for the Christmas bonus, bad surprise for the PEL… The 3 money news of the day

The Christmas bonus paid this Friday, December 15, the PEL rate which does not increase as much as expected… Here are the three money news for this Thursday, December 14.

1- CAF pays the Christmas bonus this Friday

Good news: after the payment by Ple Emploi this Wednesday, it is the turn of the CAF and the MSA to distribute the Christmas bonus on December 15. If the transfer will go out this Friday, the beneficiaries will not receive it for a few days. Due to interbank delays, you risk not seeing the premium appear in your bank account tomorrow. Furthermore, some households will even benefit from a bonus on their Christmas bonus.

2- The PEL rate will not increase as much as expected

In 2024, opening a housing savings plan (PEL) will guarantee you remuneration 2.25% for 15 years at best if you keep your PEL as long as possible. After deducting the flat tax of 30%the net remuneration rate for the new PELs will therefore be 1.575%. It is therefore a little better than the remuneration of a PEL opened in 2023 which currently yields 2% gross, or 1.4% after tax. Find all the information here.
