From May 1, this mechanical increase will come into force, it was during a visit to Eure-et-Loir that the politician asked companies to “renegotiate salary scales” to help the French in their daily lives. It also made a point of reaffirming its commitment to protecting the purchasing power of the French people by indicating that the efforts made within the framework of the measurement of “anti-inflation basket” allowed “to avoid this soaring price of food and hygiene products”.

How much will the minimum wage be assessed?

According to information provided by the office of the Minister of Labour, the minimum wage should be increased to 2.19%. An increase which is equivalent to 6% over the last year. From May 1, the minimum wage will then reach the amount of 1383 euros for 35 hours of work, a net increase of 30 euros. The revaluation of the minimum wage for May 1 is above all a mechanical obligation. Indeed, as soon as inflation exceeds the symbolic threshold of 2%, the minimum wage follows the trend and is automatically raised.
