Good resolutions for 2024: discover the main objectives of the French: Femme Actuelle Le MAG

The transition to the new year rhymes for many with a new beginning. For 2024, many French people will set themselves new objectives to achieve and resolutions to keep. In 2023, according to an Ipsos survey for the French Federation of Physical Education and Voluntary Gymnastics (FFEPGV), nearly 3 out of 5 French people managed to keep at least one of the resolutions they set at the start of the year. . For 2024, the resolutions are numerous and varied. Among those that come back most often, 34% of those questioned explained that they wanted to practicing regular physical or sporting activity. Then, the French people surveyed expressed the wish to spend more time with their loved ones (23%) and to allow themselves more time for themselves (23%). In the same register, a large part of the French want get more regular sleep in order to be in better shape. For several years, 20% would also like to keep their resolution to eat a more balanced diet. While screens are increasingly present in the daily lives of French people, 17% want to spend less time on them.

Some French people would like to stop smoking and limit their alcohol consumption

Concerning the results, they vary according to the age of the people questioned and their gender. For example, women want to take care of themselves more than men. At the end of the classification, we find the resolution concerning alcohol consumption. 10% of men want to limit alcoholic drinks while only 4% of women want to limit their alcoholic beverages. A figure which could be explained by the fact that fewer women than men drink alcohol. Some people interviewed would also like to quit smoking. This time, it is the younger people who would like to take on this challenge: 13% for those aged 35-59 compared to 5% among those over 60. Will all these good resolutions for the year 2024 be kept?
