Gay hatred was only recently a topic in the series “GZSZ”, now the series stars are clearing up against homophobia in a video campaign.

Recently, a scene on “Good Times, Bad Times” shocked viewers. When Moritz Bode (Lennart Borchert) made out on a male date in public, he was first insulted by two men in an anti-gay manner and then beaten up. Now “GZSZ” has started a campaign against homophobia outside of the series.

Again Industry service “DWDL” reports, “Good times, bad times” has launched a corresponding campaign on social networks under the hashtag #NotsGegenHeteros. In short clips, which are played not only on YouTube, but also on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok, the prejudices that members of the LGBTIQA * community are normally confronted with are to be applied to heterosexuals.

Irony against homophobia

“Straight? It’s just a phase,” says Moritz actor Lennart Borchert (21) in the first clip in the series. “And what would you do if your children were straight,” asks colleague Valentina Pahde (26) in another spot. More “GZSZ” actors are to follow, including serial veteran Wolfgang Bahro (60).

“The idea came with the current story at ‘GZSZ’ to draw attention to homophobia,” says Alexander Möllmann from UFA Serial Drama, according to the industry service. “Insults like ‘I have nothing against gays, as long as they leave me alone’ can be read almost every day. By repenting, we want to show how hurtful, absurd and abusive such formulations are.”
