In the new design of Google settings on Android, currently being rolled out, a “Recommended” tab centralizes the most important ones to access them at a glance.
Google definitely wants changes. Since the arrival of Material Design 3 (Or Material You), its graphic frame, the company retouches almost all its applications. It happens both on the Web with Gmail for example, and on android. On X (Twitter), Mishaal Rahman noticed quite a drastic change to Google Play Services. This is the page that opens on your smartphone when you go to Settings Then Google.
This is where are grouped numerous account management options : the advertising identifier, the parental control, the localization of the device, the backup… The sequence of sections without any real logic gives a very “catch-all” aspect to the whole, and that’s obviously what the Mountain View firm seems to want to correct. We thus note the appearance of a new tab titled “Recommended”. It only displays key parameters. It is not known if they are personalized according to the use you make of your smartphone.

Along with the “Recommended” tab is an “All Services” tab. No change there, this is the list of parameters that we currently have access to. In the new one, we note that the results are displayed in the form of rounded edge cards. This is consistent with the design that Google seems to want to deploy on its ecosystem, starting with the eponymous Google application.

Even the possible redesign of Google Photos, yet quite far from the others, adopts this format. Whatever interface is ultimately adopted, the mere presence of the “Recommended” tab is a welcome addition that sure to make life easier for many users sometimes lost in the maze of Google settings. Mishaal Rahman says he received the new design with the Google Play Services version 23.33.14. As per usual, you will have to wait to see it on your device.
