Normally expected for the 1st week of April, the Mountain View company has obviously released this monthly patch a little early. As reported by a user residing in Canada, he has already received the April 2023 software update on his Pixel 5.
Google releases April 2023 Android security update early
To support his point, this user shared a screenshot of the update, which clearly indicates that the device is running the Android security update of April 5, 2023. We also note the build number: TQ2A.230305.003. SO, mishandling by Google or voluntary anticipation on the broadcast schedule?
For now, hard to know. Google hasn’t made an announcement regarding the April Android security update. However, it should be noted that no trace of the last buid was found in the OTA files of the update. In other words, this suggests that it is indeed a bug or an error that resulted in the early deployment of the patch.
