To make people forget the difficult beginnings of its AI, and instead highlight its progress, Google has therefore decided to rename the AI tool. She should take the name of her LLM, Gemini.
Bard becomes Gemini

Gemini Advanced
A subscription will also now be available for Google’s AI chatbot: Gemini Advanced. Similar to ChatGPT Plus or Copilot Pro, Gemini Advanced will give its subscribers access to additional features, including the latest in AI – which includes the company’s most powerful LLM today, Ultra 1.0.
Google says Ultra 1.0 will make Gemini Advanced better able to perform complex tasks like coding or logical reasoning. In the coming months, AI will benefit from even more advanced features such as expanded multimodal capabilities. Google has not yet communicated the cost of the subscription.
The updates will also come with a new Gemini app, intended to help users access AI support on the go. It will be integrated with Google applications, such as Gmail and Maps, to make it easier to perform tasks in different Google applications.
Google adopts Microsoft’s strategy
The app will only be available on the Google Play Store. However, if iOS users want to experience the Gemini app on mobile, they can do so through the Google app. According to Google, this application is a step towards its vision of “delivering the world’s most useful assistant.”
Among the competition, Microsoft had already adopted a similar strategy by renaming its AI tool Bing Chat to Copilot last September. At Google as at Microsoft, the Gemini and Copilot chatbots are no longer autonomous like ChatGPT. The two companies have in fact adopted a strategy that focuses on creating AI assistants that can be infused into all other applications natively. The idea is that the user does not need to visit the AI site to get the help he or she needs.
