Google Calendar: an update that makes it easier to navigate the months of your calendar

Google Calendar has an update which considerably streamlines navigation between months. No more tedious swiping to project yourself into the future or the past, the application now offers an intuitive tab system for quick access to the desired period.

Until now, navigating time on Google Calendar was a bit laborious, especially if you wanted to go far into the future or past. It was necessary, in fact, to chain the scans, which could prove somewhat tedious. Now, thanks to a recent update, the application offers a much more practical system: bullets representing each month and appear under the monthly overview. With one click (or swipe), you can quickly select the desired month, whether it’s in the coming weeks or years.

Faster access to next and previous months

This new interface presents more accurately the 4 to 5 months to come, depending on the size of the screen (see screenshot below). A simple slide of the bar to the right or left allows you to quickly navigate between months, thus saving considerable time, especially for people who regularly juggle numerous appointments. This method should prove much more effective than the old scans, as our colleagues at 9to5Google.

For now, this update appears to be deployed on the server side, and its activation does not require any particular action on your part. Please note that this functionality is currently unavailable on the tablet version of the application and on devices running iOS.

In any case, this new feature in Google Calendar should provide real ease of use by considerably simplifying navigation through the months of your calendar.
